Presented by a career intelligence officer who gained her knowledge and experience
by working for over a decade in a large metropolitan Middle Eastern community, the
class explores a broad spectrum of issues that seeks to distinguish the make-up and
mind-set of this unique immigrant society. This is not your traditional cultural
awareness class, terrorism or weapons of mass destruction class, but a blend of
cultural characteristics, experience sharing and criminal intelligence briefings...for
cops, from a cops perspective.

and religion, the Koran, social interaction, fundamental radicalism, khat & the heroin
trade, to the nexus between the community and national & international crime and
terrorism. Crimes common within the community are closely examined, as are their
criminal characteristics and MO's. The influence of the drug trade and fraud schemes
are also closely explored with respect to their impact on the community, as well as
their link to international criminal cartels and the potential funding streams for
international terrorism.
