Needed Today More Than Ever...

It is well recognized within the law enforcement community that drug traffickers and couriers have taken to the nation's highways to move their valuable illicit commodities. Drugs, guns & money are the cargo of choice along our interstate systems, county roads and secondary highways. Today, the law enforcement patrol officer is an integral functionary in combating the importation and transportation of drugs in the United States, and, more than ever, they must be cognizant of the classic characteristics exhibited by traffickers and sufficiently competent to deploy strategies in order to successfully locate and seize the secreted contraband. "Highway Drug Interdiction" will provide the knowledge necessary to detect, identify and apprehend traveling criminals and safely intercept and successfully prosecute the roadway couriers. Attendees will learn the verbal, non-verbal and physical indicators of traffickers & couriers, as well as the tactics, terminology, legal considerations and problems associated with interdiction stops.


Highway Drug Interdiction is intended to provide the attendee with everything they need to do their job more safely and professionally, from "10-8 all the way to the courtroom."

Instructor Profile


Trooper J. T. Morris is a 26-year veteran of the Florida Highway Patrol, retiring in 2003 at the rank of Sergeant. He attained national recognition as a Highway Drug Interdiction specialist due, in-part, to his fifteen years of specialization in these endeavors. Morris has developed and taught Highway Criminal Interdiction Programs to state and local law enforcement agencies in all 50 states.
