This is an entry-level intelligence class. This is the class that answers the questions about today's criminal intelligence issues: the WHO-WHAT-WHEN & HOW. Fundamentals of Criminal Intelligence examines the principles of law enforcement intelligence, focusing on "quick and effective" techniques for recognizing, assessing and collecting data that further the understanding of modality, complexities and relationships of criminals & criminality. Emphasis is placed on the protocols, techniques and benefits of data collection and the recognition of the varied informational repositories readily available for data mining. The course also examines the "Intelligence Cycle" and its use for furthering the understanding of divergent data.
